Parent/Teacher Conferences
Last week all school families should have received invitation letters and booking request slips for
Parent/Teacher Conference Afternoons which will be held on Monday August 10 and Tuesday
August 11 3.30pm-6.00pm. Please complete and return your booking request slips to your childs
class teacher as soon as possible so we can allocate and advise you of your conference times. If
either of these two afternoons is unsuitable please contact your childs class teacher directly to
arrange a mutually suitable time.
Semester 2 Student Leaders
We had a very busy whole school assembly last Friday which featured awards and recognition for
both students and parents. I had the pleasure of announcing our Semester 2 School Captains:
Sara Eckermann and Raphael Vargas who take over school leadership duties from Lachlan Cook
and Genise Kara, both of whom did a great job in Semester 1.

Congratulations also to our Semester 2 House
Captains:
Alpine: Brooke Pakoti-Stewart and Chloe
Connors
Banksia : Maddie Ellis and Jim Henjak
Kauri : Kristen Williams and Sharnia Spence
Homestead : Kevin Nguyen and Cassie
Abrahamson
![]() The assembly was also an opportunity to honour
two long serving members of our school Parents
and Citizens Association with the awarding of Life
Membership. Mrs Kerry Jones and Mrs Melanie
Mollenhauer (as pictured below) have both
served our P&C for the best part of the last
decade in various executive roles. Their awards
were highly deserved recognition for their
contributions to our school.
New Grounds and Facilities Officer
We welcome Mr Steve Reynolds to our school
as our new Grounds and Facilities Officer. Mr
Reynolds has previously been performing
grounds maintenance duties at Oxley State
School. Please take the time to say hello if you
see him in our grounds.
Proposed Teacher Strike
As advised in the media, a teacher strike will be occurring on Wednesday August 5. It is likely that
most Forest Lake SS teaching staff will be participating in this action which will limit available
supervision for students on the day. Please consider alternative options on August 5.
